Fitness & Rehab

We believe in a well-rounded approach to health-care and incorporate exercise rehabilitation as part of a system, which includes and is not limited to: muscle re-education, postural correction, improved coordination, core strengthening, stable base training, flexibility enhancement, spinal stabilization, traction and decompression.

Several techniques and multiple tools are utilized in our efforts to help you. Examples of some of these methods are as follows:

  • Swiss Ball Exercise Training
    Swiss Ball Exercise

This form of training facilitates not only core stabilization but also enhanced recruitment of muscles essential for good posture, improved coordination and support, important for full spine health.

  • Posture Pump - Traction - Decompression

In order to help manage postural, structural and degenerative conditions, which may include: disc herniation, brachial neuropathies, thoracic outlet, sciatica, etc… We incorporate the use of techniques and devices that help to improve disc health, a reduction in muscle guarding, the introduction of spinal reshaping and decompression.

  • Foam Roller Training
    Foam Roller Training

The roller acts as a compressive tool that permits deep tissue massage and promotes spinal mobilization along with improved body coordination and postural reshaping. This simple tool along with specialized techniques can be incorporated to help manage many conditions where tight muscles, trigger points and connective tissue problems are involved.

  • Glitter Ball

We have discovered and incorporated firm ball pressure training in an effort to control and improve muscle conditions associated but not limited to the lower neck and scapula. The benefit behind firm ball training is that we can approximate pressure in areas that the roller or other devices cannot reach.

  • Stretching

As a preliminary and ongoing process, we instruct specific stretching maneuvers in order to regain flexibility in restricted and immobilized regions responsible for pain.

  • Balance Pad Training
    Balance Pad Training

Dense foam pads provide a more stable base than a ball but allow for a variation in exercises that some patients find easier and may be initiated in the beginning phases of rehabilitation.

  • Physiotherapy

Sports injuries constitute a significant part of our practice and encompass a wide variety of conditions that we treat through the use of physiotherapy modalities (muscle stim, ultrasound, interferential, ice, heat), chiropractic adjustive techniques, exercise rehabilitation, and in some circumstances the application of custom orthotics, specialized supportive devices, nutritional supplementation and much more.

Keep in mind that chiropractic is not limited to the spine. We are trained to handle injuries and conditions that involve not only the neck and back, but also shoulders, elbows, knees, hips, ankles, wrists, feet and everything in between.

Dr. Dolberg Asks some important questions of interest to Springfield residents - Chiropractor Springfield Dr. Dolberg Asks...

Why is a "slipped disc" unlikely?
Separating each spinal vertebra is a disc. Its fibrous outer ring holds in a jelly-like material. Because of the way a disc attaches to the spinal bones above and below it, it can't actually "slip." However, a disc can bulge, tear, herniate, thin and collapse. But it can't slip.
How could a child benefit from chiropractic?
Regardless of our age, each of us in Springfield encounters physical, chemical and emotional stresses that exceed our ability to handle. For newborns, it could be the trauma encountered at birth. For toddlers it could be from learning to walk or ride a bike. Many of the problems we chiropractors see in adults are the result of neglected traumas from childhood.
